Who We Are
GLINT is a non-governmental, non-for profit, dynamic organization that address the interconnected challenges of poverty, climate change, inequality and non-inclusive development. GLINT seeks to facilitate the enhancement of potentials, opportunities and prospects amongst youths and women through technologically driven, community based entrepreneurial solutions that engineer inclusive and integral development. Since 2012, GLINT supports youths and women to build positive values, recover from violent conflicts including GBV, create opportunities through the transformation of unjust systems, structures and build dignified lives.
GLINT bridges the gap between African youth and their development needs, working to revive the Spirit of “Ubuntu” togetherness, cooperation, entrepreneurship, exchange perspectives and develop shared vision of prosperity across the continent. We want to connect more African youths to this nonviolence, entrepreneurial and technology driven organization so that Africa will achieve the vital transition to shift from warfare to welfare.
GLINT works with disadvantaged communities especially youths and women to build positive values, conflict-sensitive, driven and dignified lives.
Through broad-based technical and strategic empowerment and transformation, we strengthen youths to participate, contribute, advocate and support the development process in Africa.
We accompany youths and women to actualize their dreams through mentorship, coaching and career progression sessions.
GLINT will serve as a platform for social justice interventions with particular interest on workers and labour rights/ laws. Africa is gradually evolving into fully fledged capitalist economies which means that further exploitation of the workforce is highly likely if protective policies and laws are not in enforced. Therefore GLINT will provide that platform to sensitive, mobilize and journey with African youths to understand, claim and enjoy their rights as a productive workforce. GLINT will collaborate with African youths to seek locally and nationally acceptable labour laws aligned with international standards
GLINT aims to connect with young people and women to showcase their achievements in social, political, cultural, academic, technological and other leadership spheres. Transforming the narrative about African leadership potentials, highlighting the historical perspective of African youths and women as stakeholders in leadership and development of communities. The main thrust of the idea is to ensure that African communities are positively developing at their pace supported with clear pathway to drive progress. In GLINT, we believe that it is almost guaranteed that Africa can move from “warfare to welfare” within the timeframe of fifty years.
